Proposed Changes for the
Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities
AMENDMENT YEAR
The Statement of Student Rights
and Responsibilities ("the Statement")
outlines some of the University's core values, describes behaviors that
are inconsistent with those values, and establishes a formal procedure
for investigating and resolving alleged violations.
The Statement applies to all registered undergraduate and graduate
students at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. An online version can
be found at http://www.studentpolicies.dsa.umich.edu.
Every two years, the Statement is subject to review. During this time,
any member of the Michigan community may advance a proposal to amend
the Statement. 2006-07 is an Amendment Year!
Students interested in submitting an amendment proposal do so through
their Michigan Student Assembly (MSA) representative. For more
information, contact Mitch Holzrichter, Chair, CCAB (Code of Conduct
Advisory Board) at mholz@umich.edu
Faculty interested in submitting an amendment proposal do so through
the Student Relations Advisory Committee (SRAC). Contact information
for SRAC can be found on its website:
http://www.umich.edu/~sacua/src/sracindex.html
In addition, the Executive Officers of the University may submit
proposals directly to the Student Relations Advisory Committee.
Per the Statement, SRAC will make its own recommendations about each
proposal submitted to President Coleman, who makes the final decision
about each proposed amendment.
Any approved changes to the Statement of Student Rights and
Responsibilities become official in July 2007.
